01 The story, in three paragraphs

Why everyone keeps coming back.

Nestled quietly within the charming village atmosphere of Kampung Bohor Mali in Kuala Perlis, Kedai Aiskrim Ismahasah offers a delightful refuge for ice cream lovers and food enthusiasts seeking a genuine local experience. This cozy ice cream shop and eatery is a hidden gem that invites visitors to savor not just its refreshing treats but also the warm, hometown vibes that echo through its surroundings.

At Kedai Aiskrim Ismahasah, the highlight is undoubtedly its assortment of special ice cream flavors, a cooling delight perfect for escaping the Malaysian heat. The ice creams here are not just desserts; they are a local cultural experience, cherished by villagers as a sweet respite in the afternoon sun. Customers rave about the generous portions and variety that cater especially well to families, making it a joyful stop for children and adults alike.

The dining atmosphere reflects an authentic village warung style—simple and unpretentious. While the seating area may be cozy and somewhat warm, it adds to the intimate, homely feel of the place. The sense of community is palpable, with visitors often remarking how the environment reminds them of a familiar hometown path rather than a commercialized tourist hotspot.

Local patrons, such as Danial Arif, appreciate the shop’s off-the-beaten-path location, calling it a “hidden place” that feels like a serene journey towards a traditional warung setting. Abdullah Izzat emphasizes the authenticity, encouraging travelers to “skip the overly hyped tourist spots” and instead embrace the tranquility of village life combined with the delight of locally made ice cream while gazing over expansive paddy fields.

Many also find the pricing reasonable and fitting for the portion sizes, with reviews from Aida Yasunori highlighting “affordable prices” and “good quantity.” The variety offered ensures kids have plenty of flavors to choose from, making Kedai Aiskrim Ismahasah a well-rounded destination for family outings.

Though parking can be limited and the space quite compact, these minor inconveniences hardly diminish the experience. Instead, they serve as reminders of the shop’s authenticity and the unpretentious charm that defines it. Jamilah Mohd Hanif’s comment—praising the delicious food and fair prices while acknowledging the small, warm setting—beautifully sums up the cozy essence of this quaint village ice cream haven.

Whether you’re a food adventurer eager to taste true local flavors or simply someone looking to unwind with a creamy, flavorful ice cream treat amidst peaceful rural scenery, Kedai Aiskrim Ismahasah promises an experience that’s as heartfelt as it is delicious. Connect with the slower rhythms of village life here, and leave with memories cooling you well beyond the last sweet bite.

If you want to experience life like a local, this is the place to be. Skip the overly hyped tourist spots and come here instead – trust me, you’ll enjoy it so much more. This is where the locals go to enjoy ice cream in the heat of the afternoon, and it’s an experience like no other. Eating their special ice cream while taking in the peaceful views of the villages and sprawling paddy fields gives you a unique and calming vibe that’s hard to find anywhere else. They also serve other local favourites, like Kuey Teow Sup (rice noodle soup), Nasi Tom Yam (rice with spicy Tom Yam dishes), and more. Just a quick note – the road leading here is quite narrow, only wide enough for one car at a time, so drive carefully and be ready to give way to oncoming vehicles. For an authentic local experience, great food, and a unique setting, this spot is a must-visit!

It was my first time visiting a restaurant that’s quickly gaining popularity in Perlis – Kedai Aiskrim Ismahasah in Bohor Mali. Located deep within the vast paddy fields, the restaurant is a hidden gem offering Thai-inspired cuisine. Its main specialty is the grilled beef rice, which can rival the flavors of Danok’s grilled beef rice. The tender and flavorful beef, combined with the rich, smoky aroma of charcoal grilling, is simply delicious. In addition to the signature dish, their tom yum river prawns and fried rice with river prawns are also highly recommended and sure to be crowd favorites. The flavors are incredibly satisfying and showcase the freshness of the prawns. The restaurant also offers a variety of ice creams and beverages, perfect for quenching your thirst after a hearty meal. Another highlight on the menu is the crispy chicken pops coated in a mix of flour and breadcrumbs, making them delightfully crunchy and flavorful. The prices are very reasonable, making it an excellent choice for the local community. The spacious parking area adds to the convenience, ensuring a stress-free visit. This is definitely a spot worth exploring for its unique location, delicious food, and relaxing ambiance.
